The commonwealth of Dominica released on St. Maarten, its official domnik ki dou calendar of events to mark one of their premier festival for February. If Bouyon music means anything to you, this is one event you can’t miss. The lineup is centered more on local Fetes, Pageants, Street Jams, and its usual nightly events at Carnival City that inspires their acclimation to be the most original Carnival in the region.
The team of marketing personnel that visited St. Maarten Includes Ms. Samantha Letang who is the Marketing Executive for the Caribbean region and representing Discover Dominica Authority and Valantine Cuffy. They told National Radio here on St. Maarten that this year’s Celebration, “Mas Domnik” is the real Mas. It separates itself from the many Carnival Celebrations held in the Caribbean Basin at about the same time each year. It spreads over the month of February with the last five days covering the highlights of the Festival and featuring from their National Queen Pageant to the Jouvert through the streets of Roseau and putting the cap on the Mas Celebration with their Costume Parade and Last Lap on Tuesday February 28th 2017.
The visit of the Marketing delegation to St. Maarten also met with steak holders and media personnel to drum up support for the occasion while enabling the Island to organize an alliance with the airline WINAIR that is already servicing the route St. Maarten/ Dominica and to possibly ad additional flights into the Island based on Demand for the month of February. Two of the other popular Music Festivals that the Nature Island is famous for is the Dominica’s Jazz n Creole Fest in May and the World Creole Music Festival in October each year.
